Loyal Protestant Association
The Loyal Protestant Association, a public foundation
dedicated to the welfare of children, are generous supporters of
the Special Care Nursery at Royal Columbian Hospital. Over the past
four years they have donated $45,000 for equipment.
This year they donated $15,000 towards an incubator.
New technology incubators provide optimum heat and humidity and
are less noisy. Babies kept in a nice, quiet environment require
less oxygen, saturate well and grow better.
Thanks in part to donations from organizations like
the Loyal Protestant Association, our Special Care Nursery had the
best patient outcomes, with the lowest complication rates, in a
North America wide study. It is the combination of one-on-one care,
with the aid of highly specialized equipment, that ensures that
these children have a fighting chance of surviving.
