Tea & Treats event to celebrate Nursing Excellence and donor support at RCH today
New Westminster, B.C., May 10, 2007 — In honour of Nursing Week, a special Tea & Treats event is being held today to celebrate nursing excellence and the generosity of individual and community donors, including Saint Mary’s Health Foundation, who support nursing education at Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH).
Throughout the year, donor support provides eligible nurses at RCH with opportunities to participate in nursing education close to home and throughout North America and Europe. From conferences to courses and workshops, nurses learn the latest techniques, network with others in their fields and make connections to last throughout their careers. The nurses return to RCH with new knowledge and confidence they bring to their patient care everyday.
Many generous donors dedicate their gifts to support nursing education at RCH. Adrienne Bakker, President and CEO of the RCH Foundation and Brenda Poulton, Chair Nursing Fund Committee will be on hand to officially thank the nurses and these donors. This fun Tea & Treats event gives nurses an opportunity to celebrate their profession, meet the donors in person, and share their experiences and mutual appreciation.
